Links By George ~ September 23rd

Aloha and I hope all is well on your side of the cyber veil. Our usually blue skies are now being traced with more chem trails as well as hellicopters searching for hemp fields. It's nice to know that our government doesn't find more compassionate use for money, gas and time. Maybe giving poor, underprivileged and youngsters free rides over the beautiful scenery instead of playing cops and robbers in the sky would be a start.

Lots of nice stories to check out again this week. A variety of interesting event announcements, shamanism, sacred sexuality, plight of the Huichals, Frank Zappa interview, environmental news, rare Beatles, Doors, Hendrix and Frank Zappa music videos, health tips, vaccine warnings, nuclear reactor poisoning, political comments, UFO's , 9/11 and much more. In my art section I have added some nice images of 60's poster art.
Also a full download for the movie "They Live".

My birthday party video has just been uploaded by Stephanie on YouTube.
Many thanks to the two wonderful bands Terrapin Station and Love Machine who we danced and ascended to the music of Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix,
Pink Floyd and more. Also to the many friends and family present and in spirit. A high time was shared by all.
Along with the other fine videos on her channel, please have a look on this link :

Check out my updated blog images towards the bottom.

Donations are always very very appreciated. As many of you know, I have been sending out this newsletter for over 7 years. I am committed to networking these articles and stay many hours a day researching. Our financial situation is very challenging as it is and the cost to keep the internet services also is a problem each month. I would like to thank the friends that have sent in donations to the service I provide. I am not asking for anyone to feel that they have to donate. My service is from the heart and it is a pleasure for me to outreach to as many people as possible. Many people write me back that they have benefited from the articles and thus the information provides a service. However, if anyone can send even a small donation to me through paypal or otherwise, my family and I would be very very appreciative.
In any case, the 'links by george" will go on.

They have been explicit, and they wrote and said that we attacked - we attacked America because you had bases on our holy land in Saudi Arabia, you do not give Palestinians a fair treatment, and you have been bombing Iraq."

Allison Kilkenny, Truthout:
"The recent attacks against the United States Postal Service (USPS) are more than signs of desperate times - a natural sunset moment for a service rendered archaic by FedEx and UPS. It calls for dominion over friends and enemies alike.

William Rivers Pitt, Truthout: "All across America, there are classrooms filled with fifth graders who only know the World Trade Center from pictures. They have achieved the final perfection of George Orwell's vision - we have always been at war with Eurasia - because they have never known a world where their country has not been at war in Iraq and Afghanistan. As with the Towers, some of these children only know a parent from pictures, because that parent was killed in those wars. They know what anthrax is, what an IED is, what WMD stands for. They know about fear, for it was fed to them, literally, with mother's milk. For them, it has always been this way."

"Should, hereafter, those incited by the lust of power and prompted by the supineness or venality of their constituents, overleap the known barriers of this Constitution and violate the unalienable rights of humanity: it will only serve to show, that no compact among men (however provident in its construction and sacred in its ratification) can be pronounced everlasting and inviolable, and if I may so express myself, that no wall of words, that no mound of parchment can be so formed as to stand against the sweeping torrent of boundless ambition on the side, aided by the sapping current of corrupted morals on the other." -- George Washington

"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves." -- William Pitt -- (1759-1806) British Prime Minister (1783-1801, 1804-06)

"We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine; and remember that we are not descended from fearful men. Not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate, and to defend causes that were for the moment unpopular. This is no time for men . . . to keep silent, or for those who approve. We can deny our heritage and our history, but we cannot escape responsibility for the result. There is no way for a citizen of a republic to abdicate his responsibilities."-Edward R. Murrow (March 9, 1954)

"It would be foolish to expect objective reporting: not because the journalists are bad people, but because of the economic structure of the organizations they work for. In fact, what is surprising is that despite all of this, occasionally there is some very good reporting. But overall we either have silence, or a completely distorted picture, in which those resisting their impoverishment are being labelled 'terrorists' " Arundhati Roy

When people ask me, 'Why can't labor organize the way it did in the thirties?' the answer is simple: everything we did then is now illegal. ~ Thomas Geoghegan

~ There is power, there is power in a band of working men, when they stand, hand in hand. That's a power, that's a power that must rule in every land. ~ Joe Hill

~ No business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country. By living wages I mean more than a bare subsistence level--I mean the wages of decent living. ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

~ If any man tells you he loves America, yet hates labor, he is a liar. If any man tells you he trusts America, yet fears labor, he is a fool. ~ Abraham Lincoln

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." - Edmund Burke (1729 - 1797)

"Evil when we are in its power is not felt as evil but as a necessity, or even a duty". - Simone Weil (1909 - 1943), Gravity and Grace, 1947

"The crimes of the United States have been systematic, constant, vicious, remorseless, but very few people have actually talked about them. You have to hand it to America. It has exercised a quite clinical manipulation of power worldwide while masquerading as a force for universal good. It's a brilliant, even witty, highly successful act of hypnosis." - Harold Pinter, 2005 Nobel Lecture

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." -- Hermann Goering - (1893-1946) Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe, President of the Reichstag. April 18, 1946

"The people never give up their liberties, but under some delusion." -- Edmund Burke - (1729-1797) Irish-born British statesman, parliamentary orator, and political thinker

"Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists." -- George W. Bush -- (1946- ) 43rd US President

"All propaganda must be so popular and on such an intellectual level, that even the most stupid of those toward whom it is directed will understand it... Through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way around, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise." -- Adolf Hitler -- (1889-1945) Source: Mein Kampf, p. 197. 14th Edition.

"The voice of protest, of warning, of appeal is never more needed than when the clamor of fife and drum, echoed by the press and too often by the pulpit, is bidding all men fall in and keep step and obey in silence the tyrannous word of command. Then, more than ever, it is the duty of the good citizen not to be silent." -- Charles Eliot Norton (1827-1908) American scholar

"It is one thing to wish to have truth on our side, and another to wish sincerely to be on the side of truth." - Richard Whately: On the Love of Truth

"Find out just what the people will submit to and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue until they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress." -- Frederick Douglass - [Frederick Baily] (1818-1895), escaped slave, Abolitionist, author, editor of the North Star and later the New National Era August 4, 1857

"People can foresee the future only when it coincides with their own wishes, and the most grossly obvious facts can be ignored when they are unwelcome." - George Orwell

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed." Martin Luther King, Jr.
