LINKS BY GEORGE NEWSLETTER March 14th

Greetings again from a small rain forest spot in the Pacific. Following my
family's "intervention" for an internet pause, together with my wife and older
daughter, I went camping on the island of Kauai for a week. As anticipated
the scenery was enchanting, the gated communities irritating and the local
spirit of Aloha encouraging. But what was not anticipated was to witness
first hand the horrendous environmental destruction from agri-business.
Tens of thousands of acres in Hawaii which were deeded to a trust to be
providing for the health and happiness of local residents have been leased
to Monsanto and its G.M.O. experiments. Because of Kauai's four season growing
season, corn planted on these grounds has brought devastation to the soil
and is a probable factor in deterioration of health and environment.
One of the high points in our trip was the pleasure of swimming in several
of Kauai's gorgeous waterfalls. It was a sad shock to find that three of the
waterfalls were essentially dry because of water being diverted for agri-business
and one even shut off from access because of the contamination.
I urge all of you to take stock what is happening to our world and to spread
awareness and activism. We are finishing our cardboard placards for an upcoming
get rid of Monsanto demonstration here next weekend. I want my healthy food and
access to waterfalls returned back and the thieves held liable.

LINKS BY GEORGE NEWSLETTER
 for March 8, 2013
Aloha from an off grid rain forest cabin in Hawaii. For the past 7 years
I have lived in several places around the world and have been sending
my "Links by George" newsletter, blog and Facebook postings which I describe
as "an eclectic list of links of articles, music and quotes relating to alternative
lifestyles, culture, shamanism, spirituality, politics, conspiracies, art images
and environmental issues". I arrange the format so as to flow from one story
to another as well as have the option to find out more details on any particular story.
My early influences included networking articles from the 60's counterculture where
a truly holistic newspaper included perspectives of a new age and cultural renaissance
as well as the need for political activism and environmental awareness.
YOUR DONATION OF ANY SIZE HELPS
AND IS VERY APPRECIATED

Even though it took a few months to edit, Stephanie has recently uploaded to youtube in three parts the highlights of our December 1 "Flashback to Freedom" festival here on the Big Island. Have a look at:
