Donations are needed and as always gratefully appreciated for the many dedicated hours a day I am on internet researching the news stories that I organize for each presentation as well as for the updates that I send through facebook. Of the 4500 people that read my newsletter, I am receiving about 2 donations a month.
As many of you know, I have been sending out this newsletter for over 7 years. I am committed to networking these articles.. Our financial situation is very challenging as it is and the cost to keep the internet services also is a problem each month. I would like to thank the friends that have sent in donations to the service I provide. I am not asking for anyone to feel that they have to donate. My service is from the heart and it is a pleasure for me to outreach to as many people as possible. Many people write me back that they have benefited from the articles and thus the information provides a service. However, if anyone can send even a small donation to me through paypal or otherwise, my family and I would be very very appreciative. But again, in no way will I not send out these newsletters if there are no donations as I am dedicated to sharing and spreading articles of awareness and reflection.
In any case, the 'links by george" will go on.
If you wish to send a donation with paypal, here is the account

Also you can contact me at the same address if you wish to send a check.

Check out my updated blog images towards the bottom.

Stephanie does the uploading the "links by george" articles into the blog as well as the photos and art work which take her many hours to add as well and for which I am very grateful. Also this week she has added her beautiful photos of "mushroom land" and "Easter Island ancient mushroom head"

My 60th birthday party video has just been uploaded by Stephanie on YouTube. Many thanks to the two wonderful bands Terrapin Station and Love Machine who we danced and ascended to the music of Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and more. Also to the many friends and family present and in spirit. A high time was shared by all. Along with the other fine videos on her channel, please have a look on this link :

Lots of articles again this week covering a spectrum that includes the recent Wall Street demonstrations, spiritual approaches, environmental issues, nuclear reactors in danger, economic trends, political news, health tips and lots of music videos.

"Day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date. In this way every prediction made by the Party could be shown by documentary evidence to have been correct; nor was any item of news, or any expression of opinion, which conflicted with the needs of the moment, ever allowed to remain on record. All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary." George Orwell

"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and those are the ones you have to focus on" - G W Bush

"What luck for the rulers that men do not think." --Adolf Hitler

"Our greatest primary task is to put people to work. This is no unsolvable problem if we face it wisely and courageously. It can be accomplished in part by direct recruiting by the Government itself, treating the task as we would treat the emergency of a war, but at the same time, through this employment, accomplishing great - greatly needed projects to stimulate and reorganize the use of our great natural resources....

And finally, in our progress towards a resumption of work, we require two safeguards against a return of the evils of the old order. There must be a strict supervision of all banking and credits and investments. There must be an end to speculation with other people's money. And there must be provision for an adequate but sound currency. These, my friends, are the lines of attack."
Franklin Delano Roosevelt, First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1933.

"The real menace of our Republic is the invisible government which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy legs over our cities states and nation. At the head is a small group of banking houses generally referred to as 'international bankers.' This little coterie... run our government for their own selfish ends. It operates under cover of a self-created screen...[and] seizes...our executive officers... legislative bodies... schools... courts... newspapers and every agency created for the public protection." -- John F. Hylan (1868-1936), Mayor of New York City (1918-1925), nicknamed "Red Mike"

"Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of the day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period, and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers (adminstrators) too plainly proves a deliberate, systematic plan of reducing us to slavery." -- Thomas Jefferson - (1743-1826), US Founding Father, drafted the Declaration of Independence, 3rd US President

"The worst forms of tyranny, or certainly the most successful ones, are not those we rail against but those that so insinuate themselves into the imagery of our consciousness, and the fabric of our lives, as not to be perceived as tyranny." -- Michael Parenti

"The inherent right in the people to reform their government, I do not deny; and they have another right, and that is to resist unconstitutional laws without overturning the government." - -- Daniel Webster - (1782-1852) US Senator

"We must move past indecision to action. If we do not act, we shall surely be dragged down the long, dark, and shameful corridors of time reserved for those who possess power without compassion, might without morality, and strength without sight."
Martin Luther King Jr. delivered 4 April 1967, Riverside Church, New York City
