Check out my updated blog images towards the bottom.

Stephanie does the uploading the "links by george" articles into the blog as well as the photos and art work which take her many hours as well and for which I am very grateful.

Stephanie and I just celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary. Our friend Scott Huckabay played the wonderful music and here is a youtube of his Jimi Hendrix tribute for us:

Donations are gratefully accepted as it is becoming an increasing financial challenge to send this newsletter each month. I would like to thank our dear friends at Twin Falls for their generous and very appreciation contribution recently. Even if it is a small amount, we would be happy to accept. It is a joy to see that many of these stories are reaching people in places around the world where they are isolated from such access. Likewise, even if there is not enough time to read each link, the headlines and descriptions add reference ideas as well. The blog itself is a challenge for people with slow internet service to open which is why I arrange the stories in a way that it's not necessary to open the blog to read the information. However, for each edition of the blog, I add various fresh art images that I encourage you to check out on the top part of the bottom art section.

"Forget the boring documentaries that you suffered through in school -- today's filmmakers use everything from 3D technology and IMAX lenses to custom-designed equipment and pop soundtracks to draw attention to their causes.Covering topics ranging from an ousted family of lions searching for a home to a steady invasion of toads on an unsuspecting town to the mysterious disappearance of bees, these films are worth seeing above and beyond their environmental messages."

Obama Claims Gadhafi is a Danger to U.S.
By Justin Elliott
Obama makes the case that Moammar Gadhafi actually threatens the national security interests of the U.S. The argument feels perfunctory -- especially given the previous
emphasis on protecting Libyan civilians -- but he makes it nonetheless:

"We look forward to the time when the Power of Love will replace the Love of Power. Then will our world know the blessings of peace." - William Ewart Gladstone

"What do we mean by the Revolution? The war? That was no part of the revolution; it was only an effect and consequence of it. The revolution was in the minds of the people, and this was effected ... before a drop of blood was shed." - JOHN ADAMS, letter to Thomas Jefferson, Aug. 24, 1815
"The greatest revolution of our generation is the discovery that human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives" - William James
"The only ends for which governments are constituted, and obedience rendered to them, are the obtaining of justice and protection; and they who cannot provide for both give the people a right of taking such ways as best please themselves, in order to their own safety." - - Algernon Sidney - (1622-1683) English statesman, writer, Whig leader
"The press is so powerful in its image-making role, it can make a criminal look like he's the victim and make the victim look like he's the criminal. This is the press, an irresponsible press. If you aren't careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." - Malcolm X, Audubon Ballroom, December 13, 1964
"The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation." Barack Obama - December 20, 2007
"This is like deja vu all over again." - Yogi Berra
"But what counter-insurgency really comes down to is the protection of the capitalists back in America, their property and their privileges. US national security, as preached by US leaders, is the security of the capitalist class in the US, not the security of the rest of the people." ---[1975] CIA Diary by Philip Agee

"In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in men, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution." -- Thomas Jeffferson, 1799
"I freed a thousand slaves I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves." -- Harriet Tubman

"It is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of their leaders. That is easy. All you have to tell them is that they are being attacked and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." Hermann Goering, Nuremberg Trials
"Better than a thousand hollow words is one word that brings peace. " -- Buddha (560-483 B.C.)
Peace, in the sense of the absence of war, is of little value to someone who is dying of hunger or cold. It will not remove the pain of torture inflicted on a prisoner of conscience. It does not comfort those who have lost their loved ones in floods caused by senseless deforestation in a neighboring country. Peace can only last where human rights are respected, where people are fed, and where individuals and nations are free. -- The XIVth Dalai Lama
And Now For Something Completely Different
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life.
Monty Python's Life of Brian
