11.11.11
First of all I would like to thank our friends whose contributions have paid our internet costs for one more month to keep this newsletter going. Living on less than a shoestring budget is challenging, but I am intent to keep on sending out the "links by george" as long as I can.
This week I found a nice photo of Swami Satchidananda blowing bubbles.
Last week we attended a local gathering on 11.11.11 of about 200 people. You can possibly recognize my back in this photo on the right side with a tye dye shirt with a yellow middle and my white hair. One of my reflections that day was how our realities are based predominantly in the mindspace. Great ideas have led to wonderful inventions, intentions and manifestations. But the mind also has led us to the brink of an abyss through planning wars, greed and hypocracy. More an ever our species needs to align our thoughts with more focus in the realm of heart and reach out to others with love and service to all. Dogmas that restrict us from reaching out have to be discarded as one more trick that leads to elitism. We can't just "sing to the choir" but reach out to people perhaps that are following different paths and find a common denominator. Inspiration, good example and just starting conversations with others about what we feel our heart can manifest are good steps in the process.
The Occupy movements are spreading yet the empire continues to cling and fight back. Perhaps a tactic that could help would be to demonstrate not only in public places but to go to the CEO's neighborhoods and maybe their children can learn of what their parents are doing to the planet. The hazards of approaching their neighborhoods are of course challenging, but it could mean putting a human face to the abstract masks these heartless corporations wear.
As many of you know, I have been sending out this newsletter for over 7 years. I am committed to networking these articles and stay many hours a day researching. Our financial situation is very challenging as it is and the cost to keep the internet services also is a problem each month. I would like to thank the friends that have sent in donations to the service I provide. I am not asking for anyone to feel that they have to donate. My service is from the heart and it is a pleasure for me to outreach to as many people as possible. Many people write me back that they have benefited from the articles and thus the information provides a service. However, if anyone can send even a small donation to me through paypal or otherwise, my family and I would be very very appreciative.
In any case, the 'links by george" will go on.
. We have a paypal contact at gsrain@yahoo.com
Also you can go directly to the right and you will find a "donate" button which will link you to our Paypal account.

"While the CDC, ADA, and local health officials continue to promote fluoridation, they also continue to do so without any precaution. Just this January, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommended a nation-wide reduction in fluoride levels after the CDC reported that 41 percent of American adolescents, ages 12-15, have dental fluorosis, a clear sign of overexposure to fluoride, and that the rate is continuing to increase steadily."

QUOTES FOR THE WEEK:
"What do we mean by the Revolution? The war? That was no part of the revolution; it was only an effect and consequence of it. The revolution was in the minds of the people, and this was effected ... before a drop of blood was shed." - John Adams
=
"The worst forms of tyranny, or certainly the most successful ones, are not those we rail against but those that so insinuate themselves into the imagery of our consciousness, and the fabric of our lives, as not to be perceived as tyranny." -Michael Parenti

=
"War is when the government tells you who the bad guy is. Revolution is when you decide that for yourself." -Author unknown

"Is there any reason why the American people should be taxed to guarantee the debts of banks, any more than they should be taxed to guarantee the debts of other institutions, including merchants, the industries, and the mills of the country?" -"I never thought the Federal Reserve System would prove such a failure" - Carter Glass -- (1858-1946) US Senator (D-VA), Co-sponsor of the bill that led to the creation of the Federal Reserve system. - U.S. Secretary of the Treasury under President Woodrow Wilson.

"What does labor want? We want more schoolhouses and less jails; more books and less arsenals; more learning and less vice; more leisure and less greed; more justice and less revenge; in fact, more of the opportunities to cultivate our better natures." - Samuel Gompers, President of the American Federation of Labor- 1915
=
"It is the minorities who have made the history of this world. It is the few who have had the courage to take their places at the front; who have been true enough to themselves to speak the truth that was in them; who have dared oppose the established order of things; who have espoused the cause of the suffering, struggling poor; who have upheld without regard to personal consequences the cause of freedom and righteousness. It is they, the heroic, self-sacrificing few who have made the history of the race and who have paved the way from barbarism to civilization. The many prefer to remain upon the popular side.

STONES TO JAM TOGETHER THIS MONTH
Next year will mark the Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary but as yet, they haven’t said if they’d be doing anything. However, Keith Richards told Rolling Stone magazine that he’s getting together with his bandmates Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts in a London studio this month. He revealed, “We’re just going to play a little together because we haven’t played for three or four years.” Richards added, “Mick’s welcome, and I’m sure he’ll turn up, but right now we just want to get our chops down.” As for if anything will happen for their 50th anniversary, Keith stated, “I just hope we can perform live.
REELIN’ IN THE YEARS PRODUCTIONS TO REPRESENT THE MUSIC FOOTAGE FROM “THE KING OF LATE NIGHT, JOHNNY CARSON”
Reelin’ In The Years Productions, the world’s largest music footage library, is proud to announce that it has signed a deal to represent The Carson Entertainment Group for licensing performances and interviews from the musical guests who appeared with Johnny Carson from 1962 – 1992.
Carson Entertainment Group controls the rights to the Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson library. Thousands of hours of material has been catalogued, and preserved and is available for license.
For 30 years, from October 1962 through to May 1992, The Carson Show was one of the most important showcases in America for comedians, actors, sports figures, politicians, and music artists. Managed and administered by The Carson Entertainment Group, the vast program archives contain over 3,500 hours of footage across nearly 2,500 episodes. Reelin’ In The Years Productions will be bringing its vast experience in the field of music footage licensing to market the music performances to a wider clientele.
Reelin’ In The Years Productions (RITY), founded in 1992 by David Peck, represents
over 35 television stations and independent archives in Europe, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Representing a combined library of over 20,000 hours of music footage spanning seven decades, RITY has become a world leader in placing music footage clips in movies, television, digital/online media, DVDs and CDs. Jeff Sotzing President of Carson Entertainment stated,“ David Peck and his staff have such a tremendous knowledge and respect for the music contained in the body of The Carson Show library that we thought the fit would be a natural. We look forward to a long and successful relationship."
Commenting on the Carson archive, Reelin’ In The Years president David Peck stated, “Representing the performances and interviews from the musical guests on The Carson Show is truly an honor, the gravity of which is hard to convey. Of course, the archive is one of the most prestigious in all of television, and the holdings are truly incredible, featuring many unique and one-of-a-kind performances. Also, unlike many other programs from this time period where the bulk of the performances were lip-synched, all of the Carson performances are live.“
The Johnny Carson archive features a “who’s who" of music superstars from the 60’s to the 90’s. Just a few of the artists who appeared on the program include Paul McCartney, James Brown, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Marvin Gaye, David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, Diana Ross, and Stevie Ray Vaughan in one of his final TV appearances before his passing. In addition to legendary R&B, Soul, & Rock and Pop artists, the archive also includes a wide spectrum of many of the greatest country artists of the day. From Johnny Cash to Randy Travis, from Dolly Parton to The Judds, from George Jones to Garth Brooks, the archive is a veritable hall of fame in terms of live country performances.
Reelin' In The Years Productions LLC is the world’s largest music footage archive. In addition, the company has Directed and Produced over 70 DVDs including the Grammy®-nominated The American Folk Blues Festival 1962-1969 series. Reelin’ In The Years Productions founder and president David Peck is available for interviews. For further information, please visit www.reelinintheyears.com.
