Links By George December 2nd

Greetings again. The blog update took awhile to update,
but I hope the new art and news paste ups will have some
interest for everyone. Some people have been asking
about my radio show presentation on Wed. nights (Sydney time)
for which I am adding the information below as well.
A fine week to you.
George

Recently, I have started being a musical presenter on our local
community radio station NIM-FM 102.3 here in Nimbin.
My show is called "Sidetracks" which is an eclectic blend of 60's
psychedelia, progressive rock, blues, shamanic/political overtones
and fun to listen to. I am on the air on Wednesday from 8-10:30 p.m
local time. The station streams on the internet, and you are invited
to check the show out. Make sure you go to the world time site to
find out the appropriate day or hour from your region. Australia
has various time zones and ours is the same as Sydney or Melbourne.
If you do tune in, I would be happy to hear your feedback. A sampling
of artists on the show includes a range from AC/DC, Stones, Zeppelin,
Tim Buckley, Dylan, Traffic, Miles Davis, Grateful Dead, Zappa
and lots of nuggets in between for a very high soundscape.
Here is the link to the stream:

members of an elite division of Blackwater are at the center of a

Taliban and Al Qaeda operatives, "snatch and grabs" of high-value
targets and other sensitive action inside and outside Pakistan,
an investigation by The Nation has found.

Why They Hate Us :On Military Occupation
By Stephen M. Walt
The bottom line is that you don't need to be a sociologist, political
scientist, or a student of colonialism or foreign cultures to understand
why military occupation is such a poisonous activity and why it usually
fails. If you're an American, you just need to read a bit about
Reconstruction and reflect on how its effects -- along with the
effects of slavery itself -- have persisted across generations.

President Sarah Palin
By Margaret Kimberley
Smug Democrats love to imagine they are a species apart from
Sarah Palin, the "pit bull with lipstick." However, U.S. political
history teaches us never to overestimate the intelligence of the
American electorate, or trust a Democrat - many of whom were
Republicans not very long ago. At root, Palin's supporters are
"white nationalists," the same people that adored Ronald Reagan
and, yes, George Bush. So why is it so hard to imagine a Palin presidency?
